The Vision of the Regina Whittlers and Woodcarvers Club is to develop and maintain a fraternity of persons interested in all aspects of whittling and woodcarving.

Club Activities for 2017 - 2018

As the executive met in late August to plan the fall, they heard of a number of people who were asking questions about how to get started in wood carving and others who were searching for classes to take the next steps.  Our plans are outlined below and of course are open to suggestions. A questionnaire was circulated at the September meeting is available here: 2017- 2018 Classes,  which should be forwarded to Herb Klassen 1322 Lakewood Cres. Regina S4X 3H3.

The theme for novice carvers will be "Knife Carving in the Round". After viewing portions of a Video, and practising carving with and against the grain of the wood, we will take the first steps in carving a "Comfort Bird".  It is hoped that experienced carvers will make themselves available to assist those taking their first steps, perhaps working on a comfort bird themselves

Nov. 9th

The theme will be "Relief Carving". Again using a Video about the variety of tools, when and how to use them we will start with carving a flower.
