– Welcome to the First Meeting of the Fall Season.
We went around the room with each member giving a
short introduction and an answer to the question - "Tell us about one
creative activity that you enjoyed this summer - whether or not it has to do
with woodcarving." Members talked about wood burning, painting, soap
carving, woodcarving and even gardening.
12, 2016 Minutes
– Motion: That the minutes of May 12, 2016 be approved. (Herb Klassen /
Emile Gaudet) - Carried.
– This year was another success. We had about 15 people sign up for classes
in woodcarving. Next year should be better with less construction, etc.,
which will hopefully make parking better. Everyone who worked at the QCX
remarked at what a terrific job Mary Hornung did with the visitors to our
site. GOOD JOB MARY...

reported that at the end of July, 2016 we have a balance of $6090.00.
The club has about a $1000.00 loss for the year due to Doris Sheldon's
expenses coming out this year while the revenues were reported last year.
There will be a SHARESHOP held at the
Seniors Complex next to the Neil Balkwill Centre on September 17 and 18,
2016. The club would especially thank Bob Dawson for making the Cutouts for
There will be a "Carving a Chickadee
with Power" offered by Emile Gaudet. This class will be held three weekends
in a row from Friday (7 to 9), Saturday (9 to 5), and Sunday (9 to 5). The
dates are the weekend of Oct 21, Oct 28, and Nov 4. There will be an
additional cost of approx. $25.00 for the blank, feet, and eyes. The class
will be held at Tory's shop. Please collect pictures of Chickadees and think
about a mount for your bird: also, some woodburning will be done. If you do
not have power equipment don't let that stop you. Herb will be sending out
more information very soon.
Herb is open to ideas for the Oct
13th meeting. What would you like to see or do that night.
– The website is very up-to-date and looks very good. The writer has
noticed updates to the site almost immediately from their happenings.

becomming president in 2017.

Emile Gaudet is working on getting a grant for the club to use for to
acquire more carving equipment or bringing in Instructors for Carving
Bill Dearborn advised Emile to check very carefully about how any grant that
might be obtained for RWW could be used.
