A report from the last annual meeting, January 12, 2017, was circulated for information.

Show Report:

The Woodturners and Woodcarvers show was discussed. Consensus was that it was a good show. Ideas were discussed for next year when the Turners will be the lead group.

  • Concern was raised about next year’s date: conflict with Prairie Canada Show
  • Support for adding Knife Makers
  • Question about adding classes
  • Discussion on adding model railroaders: Space??

 Treasurer's Report:

The club currently has 48 members.

Bank balance at the end of April was approx. $7,500.00.

Income for the year is currently at $1,300. A couple of show expenses are still outstanding (~$350) and our insurance is due (~$435)

Programmer's Report:

We do not have anyone in charge of programming. Currently this is a group project.

A number of ideas were discussed:

  • Meet at Windsor Plywood for a session on Tools.

  • Carve a common simple project and meet to learn “How to Paint”

  • Session on “What are all my tools used for?”

            Classes discussed:

  • A female face

  • A human bust

There was general agreement to do more Comfort Birds, including another Bee.

Thanks to Jack Bergen. Good job!! Pictures, articles, events, all are welcome.  Even if you think everyone has seen it, send it to Jack, and let him decide.

Thanks to Bill. Also doing a great job.

Suggested that our current links may need to be tested. If you discover a link not working get in touch with Bill via the Webmaster Link at the bottom of all pages.

Dale Wenman reported that the Library sign outs are sparse - 9 for the past year.             This is an excellent resource that we can all use.

The need to keep the current VHS tapes was discussed.

Dale will be cataloguing the Wild Fowl Patterns that we have.

With the budget that Dale has it was decided to order Wood Carving Magazine from the UK.
